How can I possibly describe the community and ohana of St. Peter's?  I think of airplanes!

We're all familiar with travel in airplanes. We check-in bags.  Receive our boarding passes.  We wait to walk aboard with the rest of the passengers.  Once the planes prepares for take off, things start to really happen.  Everything vibrates with an amazing noise level! The shaking and the noise make it nearly unforgettable!  Sometimes a little challenging to not be frightened. But once the brakes are released, away it goes up into the air.

So it is with St Peter's. Engines are running, and this place is shaking. We're shaking with the excitement of people who are being empowered for expanding ministries and ways to share God's care with the community. We're shaking with our excitement of what God's future has for the people who gather in this place. Not to mention the noise level, the sounds of our children and family ministries, and not just on Sundays!

I think of the sounds of our middle school students at St. Peter's prayer breakfast or the sounds of our our elders gathering for Tai Chi or singing oldies around the Piano. We are much more than a Sunday only church!

St. Peter's is situated on Queen Emma Street, a half block down/ makai from Vineyard Boulevard...two blocks from the Hawaii State Capitol Building, and `Iolani Palace...two blocks from the Capitol-Financial District and Chinatown...we gather in the heart and center of Honolulu.  Our community comes from all parts of Oahu - in-town, Windward, Hawaii Kai, Kapolei.
