| The YAMMD Program at a glanceThe YAMMD internships strive to give individuals a sense and experience of day-to-day parish ministry, accentuated by the blessed reality of Hawai’i’s multi-everything environment, and the future desire of God to interconnect peoples of all ages and all faces as the Body of Christ. To a great extent, the experience is geared towards your learning goals which will be articulated in a formal work-learning agreement. On-site, the intern will share to the fullest possible extent of preaching and teaching, liturgical leadership, and pastoral care – parameters being stated in the work learning agreement. In more concrete terms, Interns have experienced preaching on two or three separate Sundays at all services and every other week at weekday services; facilitating a Christian formation/education experience; making pastoral visits as assigned; leading the liturgy of the Word within the Eucharistic Gathering of St Peter’s and administering communion; and focusing on an area of ministry specialty or skill set.
